Operation Helping Hands

Volunteer Corps

Are you looking to make a difference in the New Orleans area after you graduate?

 We are looking for high school & college graduates up to age 30 to participate in our newly formed Volunteer Corps!

 

If you are willing to make a 3 month, 6 month or 1 year commitment, we will provide housing, food, a basic stipend & job training.

Group 

Skills required include:

- Basic construction skills

- Painting, sheetrock

- Exterior painting

- Worksite coordination

- Case management

- Volunteer management

- Willingness to learn!

For Prospective Volunteers

As the number of homes in the area inneed of gutting dwindles, we are now recruiting** semi-skilled, longer term volunteers to help us paint, landscape and rebuild the homes that we have gutted.

These volunteers will ideally have experience with one or more of the following:

• Drywall • Painting • Installing insulation • Carpentry • Electricity

• Plumbing • Flooring
