NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL TEAM VOLUNTEER PROJECT FOR CATHOLIC CHARITIES
(New Orleans)- Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish football squad, in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, will roll up its sleeves and lend a hand at Catholic Charities’ Hope Haven Center.
WHO: 100+ University of Notre Dame football players, coaches and staff
WHAT: Service project at Hope Haven Center. The Notre Dame football players will spend the afternoon cleaning, painting, lending a hand with chores and interacting with the children.
WHEN: Thursday, December 28, 2006 1:30 – 2:30 pm
WHERE: Hope Haven Center 1101 Barataria Blvd. Marrero, LA. 70072
WHY: Notre Dame University football staff and coaches contacted Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans and committed to perform a significant volunteer service project while in New Orleans to play in the Sugar Bowl
Hope Haven Center is a residential treatment facility that provides care for children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 18 years old with mild to severe behavioral, educational, emotional and/or family problems. The program has been in existence for 75 years serving children from the New Orleans area.
