INTERNSHIPS

A few internships are available with specific programs. Interns are also encouraged to submit a resume along with their application. It is the student’s responsibility to inform the Catholic Charities program they are interning with of the requirements set by their college or university to ensure supervisory standards are met. Prospective interns are encouraged to attend one of the Volunteer Information Sessions if offered prior to intern start date.

Applications & resumes must be submitted to Volunteer Services by e-mail volunteer@archdiocese-no.org. Applications can be found on the Registration & Requirements page.

Therapeutic Family Services (TFS) - Sociology/Psychology Intern:  Input client tracking data and assist in evaluation of programs.

Project SAVE (Stopping Abuse through Victim Empowerment) - Law Student Volunteers: Current law students needed to assist lawyers in legal proceedings.  College Junior/Senior Volunteers:  Students must be mature and committed in their interest in domestic violence.  Students will assist lawyers.

 

Independent Living Skills Program (ILSP) - Interns:  Persons needed to assess clients; assist with class discussion, presentation, and preparation of class materials; do make-up work individually with clients; assist in activities/games; attend special meetings and/or trainings; undergraduate students welcomed; Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

ACCESS Pregnancy and Referral - Sociology/Social Work/Counseling Intern: To track statistics of clients and ACCESS services.  Intern also needed to assist with researching and writing grant proposals. No experience required. 

Hope Haven - Interns:  To work with children and adolescents ages 5-18 with mild to serious behavioral, educational, emotional, and/or family problems.  Must be in graduate school; will be interviewed by clinical director prior to acceptance.

HIGH SCHOOL SERVICE

Catholic Charities welcomes high school students who seek volunteer hours to complete their school service requirements. We will provide a letter confirming the number of hours and the site at which served to the student/school.  Opportunities are offered for direct and indirect service and are available. Group opportunities are also available for classes or service organizations.
