Food for Families provides nutritional food boxes to mothers, infants, children, and seniors. The program has multiple distribution sites and even more mobile, prepackaged distribution sites. Food For Families currently holds a food box drive thru at Zephyrs Stadium Lot A on the first Friday of each month for seniors. Second Harvest Food Bank
Second Harvest Food Bank distributes donated food to charitable agencies that feed the poor and hungry in Southern Louisiana. Second Harvest sponsors four additional programs including Emergency Food Box sites, Kids Café sites, Second Helpings, and Mobile Pantry.

• The Emergency Food Box Program has 23 sites and provides food to families in need in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines parishes.
   
• Four Kid’s Café sites provide low-income children with healthy meals in a restaurant setting.
   
• Second Helpings picks up prepared and perishable surplus food from donor restaurants, caterers, and hotels, and distributes this food to local agencies serving meals to those in need.
   
• Mobile Pantry delivers non-perishable pantry items to rural and isolated communities lacking emergency food service.
