Custody Evaluation
The question of custody
A divorce is a very difficult time for a family. Parents often take their concerns and conflicts about their children to their attorneys or into the courtroom.

A Custody Evaluation is a professional tool used to gather information about the fmily and give unbiased recommendations to the court. The primary focus of the evaluation is to assess the needs of the children.

What we do
The evaluator meets with parents and children over 4-6 weeks.
The evaluation includes sessions:
The evaluator carefully examines the total picture including the children's developmental needs, emotional attachments, and best interests.

A detailed custody evaluation report including recommendations for custody and visitation are submitted to the court.
Who we are
Our evaluators are Masters-level social workers licenced by the State of Louisiana.

How to begin
Contact the Counseling Office nearest you. Forward a copy of the court order issued by the judge. The evaluator will contact all the parties involved.

Fees and hours
Custody evaluation fees are determined on a sliding fee scale.
There is a fee for each session and a one-time fee for the preparation of the custody evaluation report. Please call for a fee schedule.
