Summer Witness Camps Say Goodbye to Summer with Closing Activities

Catholic Charities' nine Summer Witness camps across the Archdiocese plan to send the summer out in style with closing ceremonies in each of the locations. These activities will show off what the campers created {arts & crafts, skits, poems} and what the campers learned {singing, dancing, playing musical instruments}.

Parents, teachers and donors will be on hand to see the progress the children have made during six weeks of summer camp. Each year, the children are proud to say "thank you" to the people that made their summers special.

About 1,500 low-income children participated in 2007 Catholic Charities Summer Witness, themed "Empowering Ourselves: Through Education, Enrichment, Environment and Emotions. For a registration fee of $25, the children were able to take dance and music lessons, got free breakfast and lunch, went on several field trips, and went to Notre Dame Seminary weekly for a dip in the pool.
