GENEROSITY OF ARCHDIOCESE OF NEW ORLEANS NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED
The people of the Archdiocese of New Orleans were recognized February 23 at the US Conference of Catholic Bishops’ National Social Ministry Gathering in Washington, D.C. This award was given for the Archdiocese’s generous stewardship to the 2007 Catholic Relief Services Collection. More than 800 Catholics attended the annual gathering.
Catholic Relief Services is the international arm of the Catholic Church that works to address global poverty in 99 countries. This award signifies the solidarity of the people of the Archdiocese of New Orleans with their brothers and sisters in need throughout the world.
The Catholic Relief Services Collection in the church parishes of the Archdiocese is this weekend, March 1 and 2.
The collection for Catholic Relief Services is a ministry of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans within the Office of Justice and Peace.
